My 2013 must have the updates. I have no break noise. There is a slight gap in breaking at about 2 mph but not troublesome.

Brought my 2 1/2 week old 2013 volt into service dept today (Saturday) for the same brake issue. Told them about the PIC5768A. the checked and said they didn't have anything with that number. They did say they had 2 recalls / bulletins for my volt. One was some had to do with reprogramming the brake control module and the other had to do with the rear removable armrest.
Once they completed the update on the BCM everything is so much better now. I no longer have that spongy, pulsating, grinding feel.
Furthermore I was pleasantly surprised as to how fast they took care of it being that I just drove right in without an appointment. I actually would have been out in less than an hour but I asked they to top off my charge and went down the block to get a bite to eat which they gladly did for me.
x2 for the 2013 brake issue - at slow speeds, my brakes were pulsing and jittery, kind of like a light ABS feeling. They also made all kinds of clicky-sproingey noises outside the car when pushing the pedal in park. They applied PIC5768A and the brakes are PERFECT now. The brakes weren't "horrible" before, just very annoying. Now its perfect.
Took my car in to the dealer for several software updates. One of the updates was the Brake Control Module. Unfortunatnly that did not fix my problem. I test drove a 2012 Volt and another 2013 volt. Neither of them make the squishy, sounding, vibrating noise my car does. Dealer said my car already had the update. They are going to take another look at it in a few days since the issues I am still having are described here to the tee. My bluetooth static and toggling issue seems to be fixed so now I can finally enjoy handsfree calling in the Volt. They are installing the wind baffling dampeners on the mirrors for free, so I'm excited about that, even if it does impact my mileage ever so slightly. I am getting 48 miles on a charge in 38 degree weather and I love to drive with my windows down in the summer time!![]()
