Volt advisers have been very helpful dealing with XM on this, but 2 months later (and about four 30-45 minute calls to XM) this is still not resolved. My nav equipped 2012 Volt is "incapable" of receiving traffic and weather and there's apparently nothing XM can do to fix it.
This has been such a waste of my time as well as GM's. Hopefully this gets resolved at some point.
I know with Kia there are two ESNs with units tat have traffic and satellite radio, perhaps they just never loaded the ESNNfor traffice into the system. Someone should be able tonhelpnyou get those numbers displayed on your nav system and then it should be able to be added to the vehicle profile in SiriusXM's system and you should be good to go. Or, you need a new head unit..
After all was said and done, more was said than done!
Super frustrating. FWIW, in my experience you're not missing anything worthwhile in any case. I found the XM traffic annoying and 30+ minutes out of date. Any of the free web sites/phone apps are better. Did not miss this for even a minute when my free trial expired.
Still, it ought to work if they are going to put this service into the car.
