Thumbs up Safety belt and pretty infotainment center stack skin

I have since been very careful but wanted to bring this to light within GM. Right after purchasing my '12 Volt last week and going thru the motions buckling myself up getting ready for EV enjoyment, I noticed that I have to be very mindful when taking my driver safety belt across my lap and latching each and every time I get into the car. Reason being is (unless I'm so sloppy buckling up) when I grab my driver buckle to attach to the latch part in the seat I kept bumping the metal latch onto my nice shiny white console skin near my cup holders, thought for sure I cracked it but I didn't. I'm sure it's just me but I feel like instead of just reaching across my lap, I have to give more thought on not having to crack my nice white center console. Like I said I'm getting used to it and not implying it's a GM design flaw but am a little curious if others felt that way of having to give extra attention while buckling up?

I really like my Volt interior and are appreciative on the entire design of the car. Way to go GM!

I've had no problems with the seatbelts so far, but I do have to be careful in getting into the drivers seat. I have a key ring on my left belt loop and at first, I scraped the leather seat corner when I entered, which immediately made me sick...so I feel your pain. I too love my Volt, I think its the best car I've ever driven...and that includes luxury sedans from Europe..the volt rocks....You may find it helpful if you reached across with your right hand and grab the seat belt, this will allow you to guide the buckle into the receiver, hope this helps.....

I haven't had that problem, but on the first ride I had a passenger in my car after I bought it, the passenger seatbelt retracted a bit "agressively" and took a small chunk out of the B-pillar trim.

That's my concern, the retracting and whacking the B pillar. I always hold and guide the belt buckle back to the b-pillar in my hand. Had a passanger let it go and ouch... I think he understood my thoughts without me saying a word..

No problem for me, but maybe you could put some of that protective film on the area...you know the clear film that protects smartphone screens.
