Default Turn off freeway split screen?

When driving on the freeway, the Nav system splits the screen into left and right, with the left half showing the map, and the right half showing the upcoming exits.

Is there any way to turn off the exit information? I hate that my effective map is reduced to half of the already small screen. I'm not planning to exit for many miles, I don't need to see details on every exit.

I can see that in some circumstances it would be useful. Strange city, looking for gas or restaurant, etc. But if I'm just driving through I would rather have a larger map.

Can this split screen be turned off?

There is a icon left side, bottom corner of the screen. Pressing that will get you back to the normal nav screen

Really? This is my only real pet peeve of the car and I thought there was no option to change it. I cannot wait to get out of this office and check it out on my ride home.

It is an "icon" that looks like a fullscreen or splitscreen

It is in the manual. http://www.chevrolet.com/owners/chevy-manuals/

I use it fairly regularly but sometimes like it.

Manual text you can search on:

    The upper symbol indicates the
    information can be displayed on
the right side of the map. The lower
    symbol indicates the information
can be hidden to show a full screen
    map view.

only scottf200 and 2 other people have actuall read the whole nav manual. Its still on my to-do list after 6 months.
(I do have it on the Iphone in Goodreader format)

I too wanted to turn it off and glad you asked the question. Most all the exits around Dallas are Named streets.

Great! This has been bothering me for a while. I never noticed that little blue icon, but I just tried it out and it works.

I found that by having someone else drive the car, while I started pushing buttons :-) Only thing I dislike about the car is the NAV interface. It would be a lot better if they had the Garmin interface. Just my 2 cents.

    Default landmark icons

Has any one else noticed little Icons of prominent landmarks? I drove through downtown Cincinnati today, and the stadiums and a few of the skyscrapers were there in little color icons. Thought that was a neat little feature.
