Default LED lighting (license plate & front turn signal/parking light

I understand why GM chose LED lighting for the DRL'S and rear lights as they are used continuously and are great at reducing battery draw. Why didnt GM finish it out with the turn signals, interior lights, rear license plate lights, etc? Anyone with photos with, aftermarket LED lights I mentioned above? Any issues with hyper flashing If I go this route? Any help appreciated.

Couple threads already in this subforum that cover this fairly extensively. I suggest paging through and looking for some of the longer threads if search isn't giving you what you're looking for. You'll see them.

The search function on this forum is pretty frustrating. I type the keyword "LED" and it says "No matches".
For that matter I've never been able to get search to return any results. Is it just broken or is there some ritual sacrifice that must be done first?

It just doesn't like search strings that are too small or return too many results. Throw an extra word or two in there and you'll be fine.

I replaced my dome lights and my backup lights and my license plate lights with LED's from SuperBrightLEDS.com.

It's pretty easy. Just look at the part number on your existing bulb. Cross reference it on superbright LED's and you get several choices for each one.

TopSpeed1 has a rather thorough posting on what he did, including links to the appropriate bulbs from V-LEDs.com. I unashamingly stole every one of his ideas, including the red map lights, and am really happy with the results (other than perhaps the front dome light being a bit too harsh for my taste).

I used license plate LED lights that were half the wattage TopSpeed used (1w instead of 2 I think?) and they are still super bright. Very easy to install.

The parking lights are a pain, and also need a resistor in parallel to be installed.

a lot of the ones i see don't really work too well on the plates. it tends to wash out the numbers making the plate unreadable. to a state trooper an unredable plate is just cause for a search. not that they would find anything but a box of tools and a spare tire in mine. if you went with this i would take a long look at various angles at night to see what your plates look like.
