Default How do I adjust Volume for Onstar Nav?

When uploading directions through onstar, the volume relative to the radio is too loud. I have not found a way to change that. Can anyone help?

I would be interested in that too. On my CTS I could turn the volume knob while NAV was talking. On the Volt that does not seem to work.

For just about any "volume" in the volt the easy way to adjust it is the volume knob or the volume buttons on the steering wheels. If you do that while a particular sound subsystem is playing (from opening swoosh to Onstar), it effects the subsystems volume. So when the voice is talking, turn the knob. There is a menu item somewhere I'm sure, but where I don't know.

The way it works is that all volumes are controlled by the main volume control. first rule is to be listening to the output that is running at that moment. I/E the radio or the Nav or the phone start up sounds etc. after you adjust to your preference the car will remember where you set it. that is all you need to do. Next time you listen to the radio, Nav Etc. it will be at the last volume had set. Each one will be different depending on you left it. Hope that is not as clear as mud.

The only trick is to adjust it quickly, before it switches back to radio, etc.

You can also manually adjust it through the car's options menu, can't you? I mean, I never do that because it's just easier to adjust on the fly. But I'm pretty sure you can for the NAV at least. So I assume the others are menu options as well.

If you mean the auto-lock honk, you don't. It's either on or it's off. You can turn it off through the options menus. If I remember correctly, it's in vehicle personalization. I have mine honk and flash the lights. I had it just flash before but I found myself turning around to make sure the lights flashed. I liked the audio feedback.

Edit: Just to clarify, I believe it's called passive locking. It doesn't have anything to do with proximity. It's a timer after all of the doors have been closed. You can stand right next to the car and it'll still lock. Which annoys some people if they aren't aware of that behavior and find their car locking on them and honking when they don't want it to.

I think Voripteth is talking about the parking assist sensor feedback beeps.

I thought the volume dial also adjusted the level of this as well. I'm not for certain tho...but I thought I adjusted mine this way.

Oh that makes sense now that you mention it. I know the volume knob doesn't adjust that volume in the same manner as the other volume types. I didn't think you could adjust that. But I guess I'll have to look into it again. Because I know it's a little too quiet for me if I have my music turned up at all.
