Ok. So this month is looking pretty awesome so far. Hope I am not wrong.

They have been back at the plant for over 3 weeks. At 2 weeks, I started to see inventory numbers start to tick up. And according to above posts, they are building around 1000 a week. From cars.com, national inventory is DOWN from 3593 on May 1 to 3508 on May 11. You have to assume they were able to deliver at least 700 Volts to dealerships during that time. They obviously sold that plus about 100 more. Giving us a conservative 800 Volts sold in the first third of the month. That should put us well over 2,000 for May total sales, and I think it could eclipse 3,000 if my conservative delivery estimates are low.

Ziv, can you get an update on the production numbers? Almost halfway through the month, we have only seen inventory gain about 30 cars total from May 1. That means that the dealerships are pretty much selling everything that GM is sending them. Which to me means they have found the appropriate rate to produce Volts, and that looks like more than 2,000 a month.

CarZin, let's not forget that there are a percentage of cars that are going to exportation.
However, as cars.com inventory does not increase, that may mean a good percentage of Volts are
pre-sold (ordered) that are getting delivered directly to customers impatiently waiting them.
Around Quebec, there is an increase of the Volt inventory around Montreal - the GM.CA inventory
passed from 3 cars two weeks ago, to 25 cars for the Montreal region. This will help to increase sales,
that there are a few Volts available. However, I really don't know how many are pre-sold that are still
undelivered to customers. I will check back in one or two weeks, and we will be able to sort that out.

Saw a couple sitting on a dealer lot in Woodruff, WI- that's way up there, pretty close to UP territory.

I think that would be tough territory to sell in, nice vacation land tho. I guess someone could do a fly, vacation & drive type of arrangement.

Saw 4 on the lot at Covert Chevrolet Hutto TX as I was driving by this weekend. That's more than I have ever seen on a dealer's lot.

I've been following 2 other zip codes besides my own for inventory.

    30 mile range

    33563 (home to Stingray):
    on 5/8 they had 31
    on 5/16 they had 26

    90210
    on 5/8 they had 34
    on 5/16 they had 85

So, it would appear a lot of inventory is headed to California now, with their inventory in this one zip code more than doubling in a little more than a week.

Nationwide, inventory is down 14 cars from the beginning of the month. GM has been producing at a rate of about 1,000 cars a week according to the other poster. Let's assume 75% of that destined to the U.S. Assuming they were able to deliver these cars at a rate of 750 a week after May 1, that would amount to about 1,500 cars sold in the first two weeks, according to inventory. The catch is going to be how much they are holding back. I'm going to say they are on the rate of selling 2,600 cars for the month of May.
