Volt Order Dropped

We are hoping that a dealer inventory car that is supposed to be coming actually arrives. The car we wanted still shows on the Chevrolet Canada website in our postal code, but whether it exists is unknown. It is at another dealer who doesn't want to trade - they have a "customer" for it. That was a month ago, it's still on the list, which is getting shorter every day. Lots of black cars with black interiors, but I already have an oven to bake cookies in. We're hopeful that a well equipped white diamond with tan leather will get the "PHEVY" plates that have been ordered.
Oddly, even though I don't want all black, I kind of like the black roof (it would match our Fiat 500) and the '13 s get a color matched roof so I would prefer a '12.

I understand the Volt production line is going off line again this summer, presumably to retool for the 2013 model so if you decide to wait for the 2013 MY you are looking at sometime late summer/early fall.

I guess it depends on how long you are willing to wait.

The wait for the 2013 shouldnt be as pronounced as it was for 2012.
The build out of 2012 models will continue until the 1st week of June. Then a 2-week retool period, with 2013 production slated to commence "ramp up" on June 25 and full production volumes achieved by the first week of July.
So this should mean preferenced orders for 2013 models should reach dealers as early as the mid July.

Hi all.

As this is two weeks from shutdown, are there any 2013 prices yet? I have a 2012 order I want to convert. I visited the dealer today. I was told the prices are the same, at least MSRP. I want to be SURE before I convert...
Anybody know?

I just came back from my dealer about 90 minutes ago. I talked to the manager who does all the ordering. He told me he ordered a bunch of 2013s but he had no pricing. He said it didn't matter to him for the moment he was going to order them anyway. This dealer sells a lot of Volts so I think the guy knows what he is talking about. I would be suspicious about what you were told by your dealer unless he can produce some official pricing guidelines issued by GM which I don't think exist yet.
