Not wishing to step on Balqon's achievement, which is significant, but their main fuel cell competitor, Vision Industries, just won two different spots on the list of Edison awards:

They won Gold under Energy / Sustainability, just relabeled as Total Transportation Services, who buys all Vision Industries trucks. They won Bronze under Transportation, behind Gold winner Ford Focus Electric and Silver winner Fisker Karma.

Balqon went head to head against Vision Industries for the Port of Los Angeles opportunity and lost. Commercial vehicles are better suited for fuel cells, while bicycles, scooters, quadricycles and small cars are better suited for batteries.
