I'm a little nervous about shipping a car from FL to AZ. Can anyone share their experiences with shipping a new car cross country?
all dealers have a doc fee. The last dealership I worked with, was the cheapest around at $215 dollars. You won't find it any cheaper.
    $399 is ok.
Aloha! codyozz 89 Chevy K1500 (want to convert to EV) driven 80miles/month.
2008 Specialized Hard Rock Bike (lifetime mpg; 1 coffee/5 mile trip) with 6' Bamboo cargo trailer. 400# capacity. No Volt yet....

From an Edmunds.com article: Doc fees:
In states where doc fees are not regulated by the government a dealership will often sell a car at a very attractive price but then hit the buyer with a $399 doc fee when the contract is drawn up. If you refer to our chart, and see that doc fees are not capped in your state, you should find out early on in the buying process what the dealership charges. If it is high — anything over $100 — you will need to negotiate more aggressively to offset this price.

Another dealer locally was trying to charge a $149 tire (We fill your tires with Nitrogen for life). Um, so does Costco (for free) and most other local dealers - also for free. What a rip.

    $99 sounds great.

    Hello,

We are 4k off sticker and our doc fee is $99.00. We are now taking orders and drop shipping cars to your local dealer therefore there is no additional cost for shipping. California residents who want the low emissions option for HOV must take delivery from your local dealer; we can not order a car with that package unless you live in California.

As far as pricing goes we (Stingray) want to lead the Nation in Volt sales, the only way you can do that is by aggressively pricing your product, providing good service, and following thru to meet your guest’s expectations.

Please contact me if your have any questions.

No additional cost for shipping? That's amazing. I just got a quote from CharlieO and hope to finalize something soon. I'll continue this via PM with you guys. I don't mean to hijack this thread. I am very impressed. Keep up the great work!

Drop shipping only applys to orders. We can not drop ship(re-route from the factory) a car that has already been built and delivered to a dealer. Sorry if my post was not clear.

Wow, that's awesome. Do you know when 2012 orders are going to end? I want to order a car with the neutral tan interior with MyLink and no nav. The 3 month wait will hurt but will be worth it for bluetooth audio.

Wow, just when I have thought it couldn't be any better ... drop shipping cars, that's a great concept, very common in online sales.

Andrew, your team at Stingray maybe onto something big, best luck with this new concept, I hope it doesn't ruffle to many feather with the old style dealer network!

Sorry to try to hijack this thread again, but if you purchase a Volt from Stingray in Florida, a non EV-Project state, and have it shipped and registered in an EV-Project state (in my case, Arizona) can you still qualify for a Blink charger through the EV Project?

All the EV charger deals are about where your installation is, has nothing to do with where the car was purchased, our even what type of EV/EREV you have.
