Default 1 hour for Full Charge on 120V, 2.75 hours on 240V ??? - anyone seen this?

I was wondering if anyone has seen this.

I recently set up my charge mode to delayed as I am now on the PGE TOU plan. I used it last night and it seems to work fine. Tonight when I came home I switched the Delayed Charge Mode which starts at midnight and I notice that my display (and the OnSTAR app) say the car will be fully charged by 1AM using 120V. Umm, I only have 7 miles remaining on the current charge, there is no way it's going to take only an hour to charge the car (see attached pictures). You can also see that using a 240V charger - which I don't have yet at my house, will be completed at 2:45AM.

I tried changing Charge modes to get it to 'reset' and even shut the car off and turned it back on and plugged and unplugged the charger. Nothing changed.... is this a bug in the software?

I sure hope the car is fully charged when I wake up tomorrow morning.

i could not see the photos on my tablet but this could be 1 am 24 or even 48 hours later. The display has no way to tell us that. If you set to charge only during time of use rates and it can not fully charge in the time available the first night is rolls over and adds the next available time period that finish the charge. An empty battery would take me a couple of 4 hour rate periods to charge. Roy. volt #1019

No doubt that is 1:00 AM the next day (or 2 days). I have see the same behavior with my Delayed Charging. I needed to set some additional mid peak charging instructions to allow the car to start charging earlier on days that I need a full 110 charge by 7:00 AM. When you plugged in the charger did you get 2 chirps (delayed charge) or 4 chirps (insufficient time to complete charge).

Thanks guys - I think that's exactly what it is. Since my Off-Peak expires at 7am the car won't be fully charged by that time and will start again at 12am and finish at 1am - the next day.

Time to get that 240V charger installed.

ah- and that's what the four chirps mean - Thanks!!!

When I finally got the 240 charger my cost dropped 75% At 110 charging the car on the house meter put us into the 3 and 4th tier pricing so it cost over $3.50 to fill the battery. Still a lot less than gasoline per mile. But with a dedicatied meter charging at time of use rates it only cost me around 85 cents to fill the battery. That is around 2 cents a mile. Last month $18 to drive an amazing car! Guess I will need to factor in tires and oil some day but that will not add that much. Too bad I don't need to drive for a job that reimburses mileage anymore :-)

    @ Charge,

In Electric Rate mode, if you want to make sure your vehicle is completed by the departure time, select that the vehicle can charge during Off, Mid, and Peak rates (Charge Rate Selection). The Charge Rate selection allows the vehicle to use "mid" or "peak" rates if needed to complete by the Next Planned Departure time. As a result, the vehicle will optimize the cost-effectiveness of charging based on the next departure time. For example, if it takes 10hrs to complete a full charge (i.e. 120V) and you have 6hours of "off peak", 6hours of "mid peak" and 4hours of "peak" rates between now and the departure time, the vehicle will use all 6hours of "off peak" and only 4hours of "mid peak". Select "Low" rates if you NEVER want the vehicle to use mid or high rates.
