Default Lost communication with high voltage charging system

Thats what is displayed on my center console. Snyone seen that. Started and restarted the car several times. Instead of the usual mileage display and the charge status and efficiency, a blank screen that reads "lost communication with high voltage charging system". The Volt advisor was at a loss too and suggested to see the dealership.

I think your Volt advisor has made a wise suggestion.

That's definitely a new one to me. Let us know what they say in this thread if you would. Then we can have the issue documented.

Problem resolved. The car was driving fine just the center display was showing the error message. Called my Volt advisor. They have never seen this. As we scheduled a dealer visit I used my iPhone app to log onto the car and read out charging stats. I then went to the car and started it up and voila the display was back to normal. Whether the remote access had anything to do with clearing the problem I don't know. I did try restarting the Volt 3 times before but to no avail. However, when I did, the key fob was always within the cars reach. During my remote log on it was not.

    @ Harry's

This message is displayed when the radio module in the center stack loses communication with the HPCM2 control module. Since the radio has relatively little interaction with the HPCM2 module (only needed for the Config menu and/or Charging screen), the car should be able to charge and operate normally. If the message on the center screen persists, you can take it to your dealer at your convenience for diagnosis.

Let me or your Volt advisor know how we can be of further assistance to you.
