Well, we're having so much fun with our new Volt, we decided to get a 2nd one. California HOV-qualified units are very scarce now, so we put a deposit down on one out of our local dealer's allotment. The unit is still in code 3000, so not built, no VIN yet, but we're hopeful to get some news once the factory comes out of hold...

That's great! Congratulations on moving forward with getting the 2nd one. That is such a huge commentary on owner satisfaction and why the Volt is successful.

Congrats! Actually, this is one of my favorite proofs of how special the Volt is... I can't name any other car that couples buy in his/hers pairs with any consistency, but there are a dozen or so two Volt families here on the forums (and a guy that bought several for his employees to use.)

So clearly, quite a few people are seeing something in the Volt they can't get elsewhere. Low operating costs? reliability? Ride Quality? instant torque? not having to stop at gas stations? I'm not quite sure - possibly a mix of all of them. But it works.

Way to go, SDMACKENZIE. We did the same thing. My wife got her 2012 last November, and I just got my CA HOV 2012 on March 15th. We couldn't be happier being a two Volt family. Glad to see that there are other Volt families out there on the road.

Hope you get your second one soon.

I'm trying to see if its possible for me to do this two for my family as well. Unless anyone wants to pick up a fully loaded 2012 Lease + Smart Lease Warranty for $365 ($345/month if you pay the remaining balance at once ~12k) =D. Just an idea..haha

    Congrats---and me, too!

I am waiting (for some reasons that will become obvious) to make my post about getting a second Volt. I think it's awesome that our repeat buying family is growing.

And I want one of these idiot news outfits to do a study showing that the Volt, per capita, and per established base, has more repeat buyers than any other car in history (maybe other than a Model T) for being in production just two years.

A second Volt or EV in my family's motor pool is not out of the question. But the second car would be mine and I'd like something a little more sporty looking like a two door coupe or maybe even a 3 door HB. I know Cadillac has the ELR in the wings and that should be a tour de force, but if Chevy added a coupe to the mix in a couple of years I believe sales would be even more impressive.

So I'm holding off until I see how the ELR is priced and how much "performance" Caddy can extact out of the Volt platform.
