Actually 7 days and 23 hours, but who's counting. They told me when I scheduled that it was not the tech's first conversion, but admitted when I dropped it off that it was his first time, not at the "school" where he did one under supervision. Not sure why they hadn't done their demo if he needed practice but at least I had it to drive for the whole time. To be fair, they said the battery enhancement was complete after three days but they didn't realize they were missing a special tool necessary for the coolant sensor install. That took 3 business days plus the weekend to arrive (Thursday to Monday). After reading on this blog that a shop an hour away did one in a day and a half, I was a little surprised.

I can appreciate your concern about your baby being so far from home, alone...we can only hope she is returned to your special spot in the garage and once again happily attached to life support and resting peacefully...we all have the same concerns because of the tight bond we've developed since owning a Volt...its goes with the territory...I've owned everything from Mercedes to Prius but not been so attached as I am to my Volt....

Just got mine back. It was 9 days. No gas top-off. They did wash it (but my dealer always does that)

I dropped mine off at 8:30am last Monday and got a call that said they were done with everything at 10:30am Tuesday. I did check OnStar a couple of times Monday and my car was off line most of the day. I did get a message from the car saying that the battery had completed charging on Monday night, so they must have been able to complete the battery rework part in a single work day.

Overall, 26 hours turn around time was excellent. I had all three "recalls" done and rotated the tires while it was there. Car was returned fully gasses up, washed and vacuumed. Davidson-Gebhardt Chevy in Loveland, CO did a great job. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been if they would have put me in a Volt as a loaner instead of the HHR they provided. Talk about a different driving experience.

It's been 3 days...and I can say that I really miss my car (i've never missed a car before). They gave me a 2012 Cruze...nowhere close to comparing it to the Volt. It's supposed to be done tomorrow, maybe friday.

My battery enhancement experience was excellent. I dropped my car off at Carr Chevrolet in Beaverton Oregon in the morning. Got a rental car for free from Enterprise. They did the battery enhancement, put in the new charge cord, and checked the airbags. Then they cleaned and vacuumed the car.

The service advisor told me in the morning they might have to have it overnight. But he called me at 3pm the same day and told me I could get the car. I picked it up after work at 6pm and everything was done.

All in all a great experience.

I am finally getting no connections via onstar so I think they are now working on it.

I called my dealer last week to schedule the updates (upgrades, enhancements, NOT recalls). He told me that he would order the parts and then call me when they came in. I got a post card yesterday that told me to call because the parts came in. They told me that although they had the parts, they didn't have the "special hoist" needed to do the work; they'll call me when they got it.
I guess there's no question that my Volt will be their first enhancement.
BTW: When I brought it in a few months ago for software updating, they still hadn't installed their Voltec charger; it was still in the box (more than a year after I bought the car).
