March Volt Sales Exceed 2,000

Bloomberg quoted Don Johnson, GM's US Sales Chief:

Sales of GM’s Chevrolet Volt rose to more than 2,000 in the month, he said. “This month will be a very good month for Volt.” The model’s previous monthly best was 1,529 in December."

The production of MY 2013 will begin at the end of June. This MONTH (april) GM will announce the details and pricing about the 2013 VOLT !!

Thanks for the update DWL. That is the first time I heard the total number of unsold Volts specified. I would agree 6300 unsold Volts wherever they are sitting is a lot given the slow pace of sales over the last 15 months.

Don't you think that the MY2013 production will be a little later than end of June? They may build a few test models, with any changes but actual production should be later, like well into July, possibly August.

Of course, you have been to the assembly plant so you might have specific knowledge on that?

I got that info from a GM Canada official ... not from my Detroit visit ...

We will know soon enough ... we are already in April !!

Model year change over is often done during summer shutdown. Summer shut down is usually late June early July for most GM factories.

I bought our 2012 this past Sat (3/31) and I know the dealers gereral manager was moving heaven and earth to get it delivered on the 31st so she could report the sale.

Happy Volt Owner, so far 50 miles and ZERO gas used.
