You will see cycle flexing of the cord and a video of the plug getting run over by a car.

Most of there test it seems are for safety of the user not just quality control.

One video is about EV batteries long term testing.

Cord,

Nice video's. I work in the wire and cable buisness and I have worked with Intertek for some of our approvals.

The standards these are tested to are only concerned with safety. Quality is not a priority unless the quality affects safety. At the end of the day UL, ETL, CSA only care about safety and as long as the product fails safe then they are happy.

I am supprised that the requirements appeared to be mostly visual. I would have expected to see some dielectric or wet dielectric testing to verify the cable's electrical insulation.

Cord, the Intertek testing and certification is ALL about user safety. QA and QC is the domain of the manufacturer, who either controls things well......or not!

Neromanceres, I agree with you. We only saw a small portion of the testing, but the environmental side of things is definitly important!
