"Last month, Chevy sold 1,023 Volts, its highest total in several months. According to GM's Shad Balch, it had already passed that number by March 20. Keep your ears open on Monday, April 2, when sales totals for March are reported."

Nice! Sounds like the number is going give the haters some heartburn. Love it.

7000 of planned total of 10,000 Amperas for 2012 have already been ordered. Assuming those are firm orders, if GM does not increase the planned total of Amperas for 2012 they truly are idiots.

The dealer nor do the "local" Volt owners have any control over the headline. Also, what you need to recognize is that the North County Times covers a region called "Vista, CA." And what link is there between the relentless mis-information of fires and Vista, CA.??? Take a guess... It's the 49th Congressional District of California which is Congressman Darrell Issa's District. So regardless of how stupid the headline sounds, we're celebrating selling loads of Volts around Darrell Issa's backyard and what I'm calling on twitter #VoltaPolooza --- which is the real story here.

    No sighs here.

The North County Times covers a lot more territory than Vista. But yes, I think it's great that they're selling so many Volts. No problem there. Personally I had some issues with the wording of the article. Saying that GM was "desperate" seemed not terribly journalistic given that just about every vehicle has a deal going at one level or another. Then again I don't think any of the folks at the NC Times are in the running for a Pulitzer. Maybe someday .... LOL

And the article was generally positive. So it's all good. (Thanks for posting BTW).

One interesting aspect of the article is the featured driver who traded his Silverado for a Volt. Now there is some truly serious gas savings! You'll save 9X the gas moving from a Silverado to Volt than you would from the Volt to a 1000 electric car. Big huge monster move to reduce oil consumption.

    Still got this wrong:

In November, batteries in three vehicles burst into flames as part of federal testing.

ONE car burned, TWO were bare batteries. Need to nip this in the bud...

    Love the Issa connection though.
