We picked up the Volt yesterday afternoon and brought it home. What a great ride home. I did not turn on the radio so that I could enjoy the quietness of the drive. We made it all the way home from Wadesboro, where the dealer was, with still 7 miles to spare on the charge. Man did that feel great. No gas...... beautiful car and beautiful feeling just driving without using gas. I am going to enjoy passing by the gas stations without stopping. Thanks to everyone for the welcome.

Just wanted to update everyone. My wife and I made our first extended trip this week with the Volt. We drove from Monroe, NC to Pigeon Forge, Tn. Our Volt got an average mph of 48.2 with us using the a/c all of the way and driving in the mountains about 1/2 of the time. I did change over to the mountain mode before I hit the main mountains so this helped in my opinion. So far, we have found 7 charging stations here in Pigeon Forge. We just left Mama's Country Kitchen where we had lunch and charged the volt while we were eating. We are staying at our timeshare and they are letting us charge the car at the maintenance shed. They are able to lock the changer cable up so that it won't be stolen. We are going to patronize some of the other local charging station business while we are here and everyone that has seen the Volt has had a lot of questions and they really like the car. That is all for now. We are having a ball driving the Volt and showing it off.

Just wanted to correct the restaurant that we had lunch at today. It was MAMA's Farmhouse. They had two charger. We had a great meal while our Volt was being charged for free. WoW, you can't beat that combination.

Welcome to the club and Awesome trip! Nice you found chargers being so new to all this! Traveling can be even more fun when you get to charge along the way. I know I have had hotels enjoy letting me charge. And often they are interested in knowing more about the car too.

Likely you have made some people think about owning a VOLT with your positive experience. I think most of the VOLT owners have been some of the best sales people in public. Enjoy your trip!
