    Default New Volt, Monroe, NC

Well, my wife and I just purchased our new Volt. We will be picking it up monday afternoon. Our Volt is a 2012 red edition without all of the bells and whistles. We are both retired so we will not have to worry about driving to work every day. We will have a lot of questions to ask and are willing to accept any advise or pointers. Looking forward to driving and owning our new Volt.

    Welcome. Great color.

Look around the forum but feel free to ask questions.

Welcome aboard! I'm not too far away in Tega Cay. There are two Volts here, and they're the only other ones I've seen in the wild.

You may want to consider joining voltstats.net . It's a great way to view your electric and gas mileage statistics, and to compare them with other Volt owners out there. Also, I'd suggest zeroing one of your two trip odometers before you drive off the lot so you can see exactly how many miles you've driven it, i.e. zeroing the "B" trip odometer and leave it alone as long as you own the car, leaving the "A" for specific trips you want to measure. To learn how, see pages 5-43 and 5-44 in the owner's manual here http://www.chevrolet.com/assets/pdf/...2/2k12volt.pdf .

This forum is a great resource and the folks here are very helpful. Enjoy!

Congrats on your new car and welcome to the forum! Lots of good information here and I'm sure you'll be able to contribute your fair share in return.

My biggest tip is to just enjoy driving it. It's a fun experience! Even after a year it hasn't gotten old for me. Hopefully you'll feel the same way a year from now.

Glad to see another Volt in the Charlotte area. If you get downtown, take advantage of the free charge stations at the Mint Street garage. They don't seem to charge for parking if you exit after 6 pm. http://carstations.live2.radicaldesigns.org/6046

I hope we see more Volts by Lake Norman in the not to distant future. It's kind of lonely up here right now.
