After getting the video, I told him it was witty, but then went into my normal education and defense of the Volt. Just can’t take the Volt owner out of someone – it’s a battle being one and it’s why tension is so high on this forum because every day you have to explain yourself as a Volt owner. That gets tiring.
I still stand by my comment that the number one problem for the Volt is that Obama claimed it as part of his controversial green initiatives when he had little to nothing to do with the car. Volt supporters should take up arms to clear the record that the Volt was born from Republican initiatives.
If Obama really cared, he would go on record about the true origins of the car being Republican so the “punching bag” Lutz calls it will stop. That would take a big man to do that to save a great car and the ideals it represents at the cost of his hurting his reputation. I am not an Obama basher, but I have lost a lot of respect for him because he continues to make things more wrong for the Volt by doing more and more to “claim” it every day.
It’s also a shame that Democrats aren't stepping up to buy the Volt in large quantities to defend their leader and spite the Republicans. Just how many Democrats are in this country? Only a few thousand Dems have $46K to spend on a great car??? Pathetic.

I don't think anyone buys the car simply because they're a democrat and want to 'stick it' to the republicans. That's a pretty hefty investment for a largely meaningless statement.
Maybe more democrats are becoming aware of the car's virtues due to it being plugged by Obama. And maybe more republicans are less willing to investigate the vehicle for themselves because they've bought in to the notion that it's not worth their time. But to say that people are buying the car due to political ideals is just ridiculous.

Don't twist it. I said it's a great car. You are not buying a crap car just because Obama has claimed it.
To say what I said is ridiculous is ridiculous and shortsighted and you must live under a rock. Why do you think they use celebrities to endorse products? You don’t think that works? Don’t people want what their favorite celebrity likes and has? Geez, go ahead and answer that question before you say anything else.
Short sighted snippy owners aren't helping the Volt either.

Celebrities are largely props. They aren't normal consumers.
I was responding to:
"It’s also a shame that Democrats aren't stepping up to buy the Volt in large quantities to defend their leader and spite the Republicans. Just how many Democrats are in this country? Only a few thousand Dems have $46K to spend on a great car??? Pathetic. "
Which came pre-twisted. No additional twist required.
This old news, most of the people that still listen to this would not buy a Volt anyway, that show is the dumbest show on TV and there are a lot of dumb shows on TV. For every 10 cent Gas goes up the more irrelvant all these silly attacks are. Volt is there for the long run just like the Prius which was and still are attacked by these some people that has nothing better to do. The Volt will also always be attacked, because of GM and anti Obama, but once the gas price plus the real experience take over just like it did for the Prius, it wont matter.
It takes time like everything else. Gas will cost more and more and there is nothing Repulicans can do about it.
Btw todays reviews and all the comments on the internet is also becoming pointless its just a big echo chamber of people that has nothing better todo and like attention. Most people that would buy a Volt are not buying it because of them its all about the price. Once price comes down and Gas goes up. nobody will even remember these fools, people also has to get used to plug in your car, and cars that plug in is going to sky rocket due to gas prices and CAFE standards.
I hope you told your neighbor you stopped paying attention to Fox News commentary and explained how Arab ownership of the company has slanted their views against oil displacement technology.
I really like that the car is less purchased in the states by republicans - it gave me the chance to buy one and to import it to Canada.
As GM severly limits the availability of the Volt in local Quebec dealers. I did (happily) bypass this severe limit.
So, we can save on gas, run on our locally produced electricity, and have more money to spend on activities with the kids!
So, let me thank all republicans that critics that car because Obama said he liked it,
and I would like to thank president Obama to have said he liked the Volt.

Ask your neighbor if he saw the oil hoses running below the table running up into the @$$ of that man...
With all due respect, Rush Limbaugh is responsible for what Rush Limbaugh says - not President Obama:
Example 1:
"You know, the left is constantly out there trying to convince people that every big industry and corporation in America is trying to kill its customers. Big Oil is trying to pollute the world and destroy it. Every outfit out there is trying to pollute the water and the air, and the Republicans like dirty water and dirty air and so forth. And now isn't it ironic? We finally have a corporation that's trying to kill its customers, there's no outrage about it." - Rush Limbaugh regarding GM and and the so-called Volt battery fire
Example 2:
Thank you,
James
