Test drove a LEAF today...

It drove well, I was actually fairly surprised. I would consider it if it weren't for the range restriction, and no option for leather seats. What I found amusing, though, was that the salesman tried to turn me off to the Volt by bringing up the battery fires. Haven't we been past that for a while now? My Volt is at 4300... almost here!

You can be sure the Leaf is a good car. Salesmen aside the Leaf is a limited vehicle, but still a great car. I like the looks and features of the Volt better as well as the flexibility of the Volt better but if you had a short commute and only drove within 50-60 miles of your home the Leaf could be ideal for you.... that is if you don't mind driving a car that looks like a cross-training sneaker from the side...Sorry I couldn't help myself. LOL

I enjoyed test driving the Leaf. I think it is a decent car for the price despite it's range limitations. I don't think it is as refined as a Volt but on course I am prejudiced!

Can't recall if I already shared this but a couple of weeks ago I was plugging in at the whole foods and a Leaf driver was plugging in at the same time. Nice guy. I asked how he liked his car and he said it was great "but sometimes I wish I had an engine too" nodding to the Volt. I just gave an empathetic smile.

My issue is look, yes I am shallow. The car is close to ugly.

The Ford Focus Electric on the other hand thats another story, I think Nissan will have a big fight on their hands when the Ford Focus Electric is available. I almost bought one but they delayed to long so I needed a car and the Volt was available. Still thinking it would be cool to get a full electric.

I did enjoy the test drive I took, and feeling like I was driving a car that belonged overseas--every single car in Europe is shaped just like the Leaf. If I didn't need the extended range then I would probably be going for the Leaf. I'm very happy with my choice to get the Volt, though. Custom interior leather seats with the spice red accents... just playing the waiting game now.
