It is true the Volt has gotten a bad press from some in the media (Fox News is not alone in this) and gotten by mouthing from Republications in Congress (and incidentally from some Democrats also because they say it is a car for the "rich"). But, at the same time we Volt and electric car lovers have given out some pretty bad words at times to some of the critics of of the Volt and other electric cars. We are all to blame for the misinformation going around. We should all suppress the urge to blame the other party/guy/TV host, etc. IMO.

GM should put this into an ad, add patriotic music and pictures of the Tea party rally's and run it on fox 12 times a day, what better come back than in your face

Funny article. I will say that I don't fully understand why the Volt became Obama's car. You'd think that would have been the "zero emission" more limited function Leaf. But sadly we have an entire political media structure that is invested in the Volt failing. The good thing is that 90% of people are more practical and can recognize a superior product when they see it.

I don't think they hate the car. I think they hate the company and the reminder of how invasive the big bad government was in a private business. Pretty much the cardinal sin to most of the far right. The Volt just happens to be their halo car and has some things about it that they dislike. Is it the car that they should hate the most based on their basic ideals? No. But to remain consistent, they should dislike it. And they should hate GM. So there you go. Volt attacking it is. And the easiest way for them to attack the Volt is to try to tie it to the Obama administration. Who they attack just because it sustains their life force.

Thanks, Marc. I tried to insert some positivity into comments on an EV article on MSN, only to be shellacked by people who would prefer to hate/react than to actually investigate/experience. I learned my lesson, there. Maybe I shouldn't be so troubled by it but it's so frustrating that people who don't know seem to be obsessed about spreading misinformation.
