I did a quick search of Chevy.com and found a Volt with a VIN of C15710, which is 1935 higher than an exhaustive search of 9 zip codes turned up Feb 5th. So in two weeks, 10 business days, GM has sent 1935 Volt chassis to get painted. In the past these cars have taken from a little over a week to nearly a month to show up on dealer lots. The fastest turnaround was for cars sold in 48501, which oddly enough, is fairly close to the Hamtramck plant.
But the big point is that GM is not just continuing to build Volts, they are building them at just about the highest rate I have seen since October, which is the record for Volt production.
Here is hoping that GM continues to build the Volt at a high rate, and that the dealer offers we are seeing in California ($5700 off MSRP for fully kitted out Volts that don't get the HOV sticker) start to show up elsewhere in the US and Canada! And that the great deals start to show up on the base model Volts, as well!
