Default Treehugger Article: Are Electric Cars Worse Than Gas Cars in China?

This is a relatively short article that overviews one of the biggest problems in China "current"ly. I can't imagine living in a city that required me to wear a mask on a daily basis. When I visited Bangkok I experienced the grossness of pollution and I was appalled. It made me wonder who/what was to blame?? Is it the power plants, the complete lack of emissions standards for mopeds (thousands of them per sq. mile) or just cars. I concluded that it must be EVERY SECTOR spewing, at an increasing rate. Makes me happy to live in a clean air nation... for the most part. We can do better, and we will. EV's will only get greener as we move forward into the future.

You have to ask yourself: Worse in what way? If all you care about is emissions then yes. If you care about pollution then no. And if you care about economic growth then ABSOLUTELY NO. The fact is that $100/bbl oil is a big drag on the Chinese economy while $30/bbl oil is not. Electric cars probably represent something even more compelling than that.

Yup! That includes emission standards. Another Republitarian paradise that, strangely, none of them are moving to in droves.
