California green HOV lane sticker

As of January 30, 2012 only two vehicles qualify for this sticker!

1. The 2012 Chevy Volt with the 5th character of the VIN being E, F, G or H; and
2. The 2012 Toyota Prius Plug-in Hybrid.

I am counting the days until my green sticker-eligible Volt arrives. TPW is 2/13 (next week!).

Commute was an hour today, will probably be closer to 30 min when the Volt shows up.

Posts over at the PriusChat site say that Cali DMV is saying the stickers are still awaiting some federal approval.

Thanks for info. Hopefully CA picks up a lot of Volts and shows what a capable vehicle it is. Mostly Leafs in CA it seems.

Last I heard it cleared Federal approval. As I understand it, the Highways are owned by the federal government therefore it needs federal approval for appropriation of such cases.

Did anyone else notice that the CARB refers to all vehicles by make and model, except the Volt?

While the Coda is manufactured by "Coda Automotive", and the F-Cell is manufactured by "Mercedez Benz", according to the CARB the Volt is apparently manufactured by a company named "Chevy".
