I have always liked Jaguar. My dream car actually. Tried to trade in my BMW back in 2005. Couldnt believe they wouldnt come down $2000 off the price of the car I wanted. So I walked away and drove the BMW for 6 more years. My biggest problem is the depreciation. No other luxury car depreciates like a Jag. Its kinda sad when I can buy a 4 year old XJR that had a 90k sticker price for about 30k online. Compare that to a BMW or Mercedes, it is no comparison.

For me, the looks of the Jags can't be beat.

I got tied up today installing a clear bra on one of my cars, but I did take pictures of the items. So tomorrow I will have all the info together on these parts that will be for sale.

    Thanks!

I have created a fresh thread for the items that are for sale since this thread went a lot of other directions. Please continue here for topics not related to the sale items.

They were wheeling and dealing when I bought this XF. I guess it all depends on what's going on at the time.

I agree that Jags have something special to them. We have a number of Jags in the family, and in general they are very reliable. The depreciation is a big issue, but it's also an opportunity to save big when you buy a one that's only a year old. It's the first year that gets you. But on this XF, I got $12K off MSRP, so that puts the first year's depreciation in same ball park as the other players. My car is a new car, but it's a 2011. With 2012's on the lot, they were motivated to move out the remaining 2011's.

    Thanks! And you're welcome.

I enjoyed learning about the great engineering of the Volt and sharing everything I learned.

The Jaguar is a nice car. But I would prefer the Volt. Each to their own i guess. One thing that doesn't make sense is that the Volt has a 5 star safety rating for less money compared to the Jaguar XF which has a 4 star safety rating for a lot more money.

The Volt and the Jag do not compare. Totally different in every way.

But what do you say about the Volt when compared to other cars with a 5 star rating that cost half the price of the Volt?? Does the Volt make sense to you then?

Voltage you were and still are a valued member of this community. I hope you will still visit! You inspired me in the end to mod several things on my car to make them a little bit better. I don't know why but I am in love with this car. It's the car that seems to be the only one that can keep me from trading cars and switching around. I have been torn for some time switching from my first ever car to a 1st gen Prius way back. Then to a 2nd gen prius. Then things took a turn and I got a Mercedes, then a Prius again. Then a BMW then a Prius again. haha The 3rd gen prius was the first time I kept a car long enough to replace the tires. And in half a year the Volt will be the longest I have ever kept a car.

So I definitely understand where you are coming from. I would honestly be more suited for the Cadillac ELR but the cushy family job I used to have is now history and I will likely be keeping the Volt for years to come. I am honestly kind of happy about that!

Anyway I am going to check out the other thread. I'm interested in some of your stuff!

Thanks for the kind words, BJ. I have definitely had the car bug since a very young age, and it's a big distraction, but a fun hobby.

The Volt is a incredible car, and I wouldn't be surprised if I own one again in the near future.

A lot of the stuff has sold. If you're going to keep the Volt for a while, and you live where they salt/sand the roads, I would definitely recommend picking up the clear bra so you can keep the car looking fresh. I wish I would have thought to buy pre-cut kits and install them myself on my previous cars that took a beating.

The only other things available are the wheels/tires/bolts. I was going to post those up to a wider audience on eBay this weekend.
