    So am I right that there is no way to deactivate this system? Annoying as heck to have it start beeping at me every time I start backing out of my garage (because I'm less than 4 feet from the wall in front!).

    I guess every vehicle has to have its annoying button you have to push (the button to temporarily disable it) every time before you start driving.

    It would be nice for the system to be a bit smarter and report obstacles in the direction the car is moving. Right now we get a false alarm every time we back out of the garage. That severely reduces the benefit of the sensor since we immediately turn off the false alarm and could potentially miss warning behind us.

    I would like to see the alarm should work as follows:
    R = Only check the rear sensors
    D = Only check the forward sensors (< 5mph)

    Agree, the beeping when backing out of the garage is a bit annoying, but you can differentiate the sounds caused by the front sensors vs. the rear sensors. The beeps from the front sensors are higher-pitched and come from the front speakers. The beeps from the rear sensors are lower-pitched and come from the rear speakers.

    Now that I've found the on off switch for the Park Assist I really like turning it on when pulling in to the garage. There is a bike in front of the spot so it is really nice to pull up until the tone goes solid and know I am in far enough and won't hit the bike!

    Get in Leaf, power on, press stupid button on display to acknowledge CarWings will send data, switch to reverse, exit garage.
    Get in Volt, power on, switch to reverse, press stupid park assist button to turn it off, exit garage.

    I guess there always has to be a stupid button to press.

    But don't the front side sensors help when backing out so you don't turn too early and hit a pole or parked car beside you.
