Just for the record, did anything bad happen with the battery when your car got totaled?
Did the battery explode like Congressman Issa said?
Did the tow truck operator get fried?

Or did the electrical system shut down cleanly when the airbags were deployed?

    Did OnStar dispatch the tow?
Was the tow truck operator EV trained?

I was wondering if the program was still active... We took delivery on April 30,2012. Unfortunately we knew more about the Volt than our salesman. And I have learned most everything from this and other forums.

This is the first I've heard of this program. I've only had my Volt a couple of weeks and spoke to a Volt advisor on OnStar one evening when I asked a question, but I wasn't aware he was "my advisor". This sounds great, but I'd like to know what the welcome kit is, too.

Be prepared to learn you have a great vehicle, but entrusted to Chevrolet. Chevy is more the commodity brand rather than the Cadillac, Buick brand. I've had my car for about a week, and tonight is the 4th day out of 8 it's been in for repairs. And why? An initial recall prior to sale was done. They didn't seem to know what they were doing and spilled coolant into an area that caused a short. I had the "posted often" problem about smelling something burning when in gas mode. Fixed, but when they put the electronics back together they splayed the wires trying to reconnect the communication system. That's the part that communicates the battery system to the gas motor for switching to fuel based travel. My battery keeps shutting off. Both problems were dealers unable to do proper repairs regrettably. I just hope they get up to snuff soon. The shocker, even a year ago, calling several dealersships, they didn't even know what a "Volt" was. I've been spoiled for 25 years with Buicks and the pride those dealers had in their car. Chevy is a whole differnt experience and not a good place to be for a Volt person. Good luck to all of us.

That isn't to say anything negative about the Volt. I actually find this to be the funnest ride I've ever had. Only the Buick Regal Supercharged offered up such a fun dash. The Volt of course goes much further with its incredible array of fun toys in the Volt. And yes, the gas mileage, and ability to jettison foreign oil. Chevy is going to have to come to grips with the sophistication of the Volt or the model will continue to be credited with quality issues the car itself doesn't actually have. These fairly significant problems appear caused by dealer repair shops.

Default Update on my thread - Back into repairs yet again. Same issues, only with more added

Please whomever my Volt Advisor is, VIN 1G1RD6E42CU113786 is yet again in terminal ill health. Only now, more of the electronic systems are failing. The AC stopped working in 83 degree heat, the nav system and center console blips off, and the battery communication continues to quit turning a fully charged car into a gas only vehicle.

I've personally called the Volt Advisors and promised call backs. Very frustrating experience. 5 years on this site, looking forward to the game changer car, and the the repair shop puts more miles onto my car than me. Another 5 days coming up without my Volt. 3 times the same repair. 4th time is lemon law to get results.

Volt advisor(s) (I had two, one was on vacation) seem pretty useless. Nothing they can tell you are not in the manuals which I read cover-to-cover. I want to be in touch with the development team at GM (or the marketing team) so I can give them feedback on how to improve the next release of Volt. But I don't seem to be able to get there.

All the answers I have gotten from the Advisors are typically "that's by design", like why can't you turn off the radio without turning off the navigation screen?
