Default Too many contacts from phone!

    Anyone else have this problem?

My Sprint HTC Evo (android) syncs fine with my Volt.

However, it brings every darn contact in from Google- names that I've only ever sent one email to, without ANY phone number associated with them.

How can I set this thing to only bring in names from the phonebook?

    Help!

    thanks-

It brings over anything in your google contact list of "My contacts". I build other lists incluidng mailonly that have no phone numbers.. (and are not in my contacts) this way my phone does not get them by default but I can still access them in thunderbird (which can import multiple contact lists).

Thanks. That really helped. It wasn't too obvious from your post, but going to Gmail (even though I don't use it as my email, Android phones require a google / gmail account), I was able to go to my address book, which surprisingly had every one of my contacts, including yahoo mail. It took a while, but I created a new group called mail only and went through and checked everything without a phone number (or someone I would never want to call, especially by mistake) and moved them from my contacts to mailonly. I did a synch of my phone for good measure and it worked.

The directory on the car still alphabetizes by first name, but that's more of an annoyance than a real problem. Much, much less distraction when I'm driving and try to pull up someone's number on the car's display without having to scroll through all the garbage.

Now if I could only figure out how to copy albums from my iTunes to the HDD and have them come out in the order of the album, and not alphabetically.

There's a thread on how to rename the files to 01-songanem.. 02-songanme2.. there are fields in the itunes that will let you do it.. I don't don't recall. Try using google to search gm-volt.com

How can I do this on my iPhone 4? I have two "groups" on Outlook one of which is Contacts Less Frequent, but I don't see a way to distinguish which contracts transfer. Right now both my Contacts and Contacts Less Frequent are trying to transfer and the Volt doesn't have enough room for them.
