    Default Wheel Locks? McGard, etc?

Anyone have a number for Wheel locks that fit the Volt? The ones off my Honda do screw on, but if there is an actual approved or sanctioned number, that would be good.

    Thanks,

AH Ha! Chevy Cruze, That will be easier to look up. Those are McGard locks too. The McGard ones will be 1/2 that probably. Thanks, I'll do some googling.

I had Checked McGard's site just two weeks ago, and found nothing on the Volt, looks like it's there now:

    http://shop.mcgard.com/chrome-cone-s...action=related

    McGard part Number 24137

Probably identical to the Chevy ones, or at least they are reputable. about $20 from Amazon.

    I'll be ordering.

Hmmm. Amazon's little check at the top of the page indicates they don't fit the Volt. Recommends #84537. $45

I looked it up at McGard, here:

    http://shop.mcgard.com/

And it lists the Volt. 84537 includes a whole set of lug nuts and valve stems according to McGard. You are correct that Amazon shows it as not fitting, but I trust the manufacturer site.

My selling dealer ripped me off for about $150 on the GM accessory wheel locks - I got my Volt at sticker price, but the dealer considered the wheel locks (the only dealer modification) as an integral part of the car, and it would have been a deal breaker to remove them (they had other customers trying to buy / lease the same car). But here is the rest of the story - my nearby servicing dealer (who does a great job) came to me as they were rotating my tires for the 3rd time (I do a lot of driving) and told me the lock key was disintegrating. The dealer replaced the lock package at their expense (they admitted they screwed it up) with GM Accessories part # 12498073. It is a different design than what I had before. The wheel lock nuts don't look quite as attractive (the key pattern is surrounded by a collar), but they look more secure and the key (which is male, rather than female on the old set) looks much more robust.

Yup, that's true. Amazon has incorrect descriptions sometimes.

I got my wheel locks today, McGard part Number 24137
They fit fine. Loosened and retorqued all lug nuts while I was at it to the manual specified 100 ft-lbs.

It's my understanding the GM ones are McGard too. Can someone look on their key and see if McGard is stamped on there by chance?

    Just Curious.

I bought the same McGard wheel locks from Amazon. $20. As Jason says, they fit fine. The base diameter is not as big as the Volt lug nuts, but they fully cover the countersunk hole in the wheel. And they are very close to the same length as the Volt lug nuts, so they look good.

Thanks Jason for the heads-up. Saved me $20.
