    Default Odd Back button behavior?

Seems to take double clicking on the Back button to go back to the previous page. In some cases, it flat will not go back with repeated clicks.

Yea I have seen that, and sometimes back just takes you back to the Volt screen with the time displayed. Just a minor annoyance.

    Default Is it googleads.g.doubleclick.net?

@NotCook: May be similar to what I'm seeing...

I'm using IE9 and find there's often a URL inserted in the browsing history including "googleads.g.doubleclick.net". From some web searches this seems to have to do with google's ad analytics handling. I have to click back past that URL (or over it using right click to view history and select a "real" previous page).

This seems to ONLY appear on certain websites like gm-volt, so guessing it may be some odd ad xml or java used on the website and not something more nefarious. (Google support websites talk about some stale analytics data that's beyond my knowledge base, but it appears not to be a "virus")

An example of it creating a similar issue on another random forum:
    http://www.head-fi.org/t/588424/inte...drop-down-menu
(if you google "googleads.g.doubleclick.net" you can find similar complaints from users of other random forums)

Nevertheless nulled it out in my Hosts file, just in case... doesn't help the browse back issue, but eases my paranoia.

So... perchance in your browse history do you see this same url?

At first I thought you all were talking about the "Back" button on the Volt dash. Silly me.

    Default History screen shot

    Hi Admin...

Here's an example sequence and screen shot illustrating the extra urls. Sequence was:
    1. Open fresh IE9 session and go to gm-volt main page (NOPI banner ad showing)
    2. Click on "Site Issues" forum. (HybridCars.com banner ad showing)
    3. Click on "Odd back button behavior" thread. (CarID banner ad showing)
    4. View history, which shows extra url added as result of step #3.

Note the history truncates the full url, which is:
    googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/drt/s

(Clicking around in forums and threads typically adds 1 or 2 of these urls; not sure if it is specific-ad related, related to diving into threads, etc.)

This is IE9 with Win7, but with Chrome I get the same issue (extra urls that must be backed over) with the difference that Chrome labels them as the same name as the current page instead of googleads.

I'm guessing it has something to do with banner ad encoding, e.g. based on items like this:
    http://support.google.com/googleanal...n&answer=55581
so it may be something only your advertisers can fix.

Not a big deal, just a nuisance. (I only dug in to make sure it wasn't a virus, having recently helped someone clean out a very nasty browser re-direct virus.)
