Things happened fast and a few unexpected things happened today. I initially was determined not to get a car with NAV because some of the features can't be use when the car is moving. I learned through this forum that OnStar could do it for me while the car was moving which changed my whole opinion of getting the NAV.
I thought that the silver car had the NAV but I was mistaken. I backed out of the deal and at the last minute I found another car with NAV at a different dealer. The car was in white which is an extra cost option but I honestly like silver better. It came down to getting a car in a color that I didn't like as much as silver but getting the NAV. I do happen to like white a lot I just don't like it as much as silver, but if it came down to getting red or black I would have walked away with out any car. The way things worked out I got the more expensive paint and the nave along with some kind of dealer paint protector and downgraded the wheels from polished to regular for a small amount of extra money. The bottom line is I got a different car but I am very happy. This was the very first Volt the dealer sold.
I was disappointed that they did not deliver it with a full charge but this was their first Volt sale so maybe the person doing the prep wasn't aware the car should be delivered with a full charge (it had a full tank of petrol). The car had 18 miles on it when I left the dealer and had 43 miles when I got home which equals 25 miles. When I left the range for electric indicated 20 miles, When I got home the display showed 7 miles remaining. So I drove 25 miles with 7 more available and I started out with 20 available electric miles. I probably drove about 8 to 10 miles between 55 MPH and 65 MPH on I-85, the rest was 30 to 45 MPH on the back roads because I like them better than the interstate. The temps were in the low 70s today in SC so I did not need heat or A/C. The car is sitting in my driveway charging up and I can't wait to drive it tomorrow.
I haven't read the manual yet. One of the first things I tried was to see if they made it idiot proof. I tried to move it while it was plugged in but it won't come out of park when the plug is in.
I guess this car does not have a spare, when I got out the electric plug I noticed there was an electric air pump. I guess you use the pump till you can drive someplace that will repair the tire

(This year there's apparently a true white option for less money as well - Summit White, or some such.) Mine has the ceramic white seat inserts, too - it fits well with the car's yin-yang nature. (Mine actually sorta snuck up on me, too - I was thinking about it for a while, but it happened so suddenly. After a month and ~1000 miles, I have yet to go to a gas station...)
