I agree, it's not for everyone. But, that doesn't mean that the Volt should be disadvantaged. If that were the case, why not build the Volt with a 10 mile range since there are those who don't use...
Never tested either here in the Florida flatlands ;)
IIRC, the open hood charging rate is 9-10, as is mountain mode. Both could run for 2 hours or more.
I do agree there's always going to be folks that a faster charger won't benefit.
Do you have numbers or a source to back that? Obviously I don't think you could, there's no way to know but it you are making a blanket statement that implies it's a large number and obviously I...
Cost shouldn't be that much of a factor when you consider lost sales. If the battery can't take that stress then it shouldn't be able to accept the even higher (some report of 9-10 kw) charging from...
Agreed, repeatedly putting a cord into the ubber tight fitting gaps is a recipe for disaster - either to the Volt or the cord.
LOL, sorry you're having a battle and good luck!
Yes, the padlock will work on any Volt rim. We use it all the time.

It's very strange, but I think the results are telling. Speed sells and a ton of folks want to charge faster. Heck, we have looked long and hard at the Leaf because of the 6.6 and we really like...
Congrats, you definitely picked the right color ;)
Good decision to "ruin" your stats and save the gas by taking the Volt.
I'd like to see more of the battery used for more range when necessary and, as always, a faster charger. Even the Leaf has the 6.6 option to go with it's CHAdeMO option.
DANG! Why isn't this car selling better? At the very least the Leafers that have lost capacity should be jumping. Ford needs to do some advertising.
I'd call the FCME a poor 2nd runner up. It's main "achievement" is that it's EV range is better than the PiP (6-11). Not impressed. Not impressed that if I need to floor it to get on the highway...
That's what I saw too.
Unlike the i-MiEV, I think the FFE has a great chance of making it, but I worry that the Leaf's battery problems will bring it down. I really don't know why Ford is hiding...
Only matters if you're going to buy it afterwards. 2 years from now there will be the new hotness. Congrats on the Volt!
I think the Volt "blends in" too much already so I choose 2012.
If Chevy needed to use extra paint (:D), they should have painted the lower body cladding.
compare a loaded Volt @ $45K v. a Prius C? Yeah, ok.
Why start at MSRP if it's not where you're going to end up?
People may not pay full MSRP (or more) for a Prius, but the Prius doesn't have...
No room for you here, look elsewhere.
BTW, if you're paying sticker for a Volt you have bigger problems than finding someone to provide for you. It's not 8K difference, it's $45K - ~5K - $7,5K...
I really don't know what the point would be since the on-board generator is probably more effecient, but you could always buy a Honda generator. They're quiet and perform well, but expensive. ...
Thule has one http://www.thule.com/fitguide
I'm guessing you have Yakima stuff already? If so, is there an adapter that would allow you to use the Thule bars with your Yakima stuff? I'm not going...
I did?
We get 40-42 CS MPG, the Prius is around 48-52. I wouldn't call 8mpg "significantly better"
The PiP (which gets a minimal tax credit because of it's tiny battery) is very similarly...
