Actually I think the real issue is that the 2012 BCMs have a lot of variability in the sound level of the noise. All of them make the noise but for most it is not an issue because its very quiet....

My issue has nothing to do with the actual brakes. Its actually the Brake Control Module (BCM) making the noise. The fix is to use a newer BCM from the 2013 models.

Honestly I love the silence too and I would be very upset if the pedestrian alert was not a manual thing. I guess now that I think about it more it just would be better to hear something scifi sound...
