I was pleasantly surprised too. I doubt they sell many Volts, if any, but a tech there was trained for Volt service. I spoke with him once and he seemed not only very competent, but genuinely...

Fixed! Replaced bearing and new charge cord. Had to stay overnight to get parts.
Mine is in for something that sounds similar. Also, the charger stopped working. I hope to find out about both tomorrow, but GM says the car should not be driven whatever is wrong with it.
Passed the 20,000 mile mark this week. We have been putting more EV miles on as my twins learn to drive. Due to that I noticed that one day the car reported 10.7 kWh used before switching to gas...
Originally the IRS did not want to give us the credit at all (last year), but after quite a bit of waiting for things in the mail, waiting on hold, and talking to several people, they eventually gave...
I think my best is around 42 in the summer during highway driving.
Thanks for the recommendation Adarondax!
I usually set my charger for 8 Amps when I'm not sure about the circuit, such as this situation. I honestly can't remember if I did that at this hotel.
I made a trip to Troy, NY for a conference and stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn. When I pulled into the lot at ~10:00 pm I happened to pull in right next to another Volt which had NY state government...
I believe I have recently had an experience like this. I don't think it's the road surface that causes the problem, it's more like the rotors are coated with ice or something and the switchover to...
Thanks for the tip. Comfort with low fan works great. Even with <15F temperatures, it only gave me the one initial engine start, then nothing for the remainder of the battery depletion. Sweet.
I don't think it is such a bad idea to limit early sales of such new technology, especially when there isn't much direct competition. It definitely reduces the risk associated with unanticipated...
Very cool, thanks for posting, makes me want to have a dashdaq! One thing I'm not clear on is that during CS mode it seems that the generator power is almost always lower than the motor B power, is...
I agree with you Jason. I think the best thing to do is keep the current performance specs and appeal to a wider market by doing things like having a fifth seat and widening the price range to the...
I thought this was a great idea too. Seems like it would have a market for backpackers/campers too.
One year of driving:
16385 total miles: 7720 EV, 8665 CS (47% EV)
77 MPG
40.5 MPG in CS mode (via voltstats.net)
Interesting view. I know a person who moved here from France and is moving back to Europe (Germany this time), one of the reasons being that the family found our health care system to be so bad in...
Well, it's been a full year today since we bought our Volt, so thought I would post some stats and thoughts.

I agree with solar_dave. The biggest factor is the heater. Ironically, when the heater is running full out with defog/defrost, your range will actually be longer if you drive faster (not faster...
I love nerd humor.
I went to an area with large numbers of wind turbines. It is hard to describe. Impressive. It does transform the landscape. I think it is comparable to converting the land from wild to farmland. ...
