Volt 1885 is now in the shop. Fortunately, it appears not to be a problem with the car itself rather it is the standard EVSE 120 V charging cord that is causing problems.

Symptoms include stopping the charging cycle in mid-cycle; tripping the electric circuits; turning itself off; stopping charging with the top right light showing red. This has all developed in the last week and has happened at both work and at home.

The local dealership was rather friendly and they did their diagnostic and it indicated that a new charger was needed. It won't be delivered until tomorrow so until then I am driving a loaner car that has, GASP!!!, an ICE for all driving modes. Yeah, sucks to be me!

Anyway, I was informed that the dealer had 3 Volts come in needing attention and all 3 of them had the same charging cord issue. GM has got to be rather pissed at the lack of quality in an essential component of the car and I'm sure they are working hard to find alternatives to the current system.
