    Q. What is the definition of a perfect lover?
    A. A man with a nine inch tongue who can breath through his ears.

My desire to be independent from gasoline goes back to the early 1970's when I sat in long lines for hours waiting to buy a few gallons of gas, Back then the had odd and even days, you could only buy gas on an even day if you plate number was even ditto for odd. I vowed that someday I would be independent.

My medical condition and the fact I always travel with two dogs makes it necessary (or maybe more practical) to travel in a camper, and I love to travel. I have to stop often to rest, on my last trip back to SC I became ill and had to stay in a motel for a couple days spending almost $200 for the room (extra $20 a day for my dogs) and lived on vending machine snacks. If I was in my camper I could have pulled over to a rest stop and had fridge full of food with a stove and oven to cook it. The morning I left the motel I found a cocaroach waking on the floor and spent hours going through my bags before I put them back in the rental moving van, I did not want to risk bring one home and have my house infested with roaches. That's another reason I like having a camper, I know the bed is clean and bug free.

I am driving up to NY in a few hours to finish cleaning out my mothers house and put it up for sale. I'll be living in my truck camper again so I want to get this done ASAP.

By the way my 12 to 14 MPG diesel truck had sat in the driveway so long because of the Volt then when I needed to use it to pull my camper the batteries had died and had to be replaced under warrantee (diesel truck batteries are large and expensive next time I'll make sure that the battery charger does not get unplugged by accident when the truck sits in the driveway for months)

Well, just goes to show that Murphys Law can wreck havoc on the best of us...lol. Hope that all is well with you now.

My anger with big oil dates back to 2008- That was when the morgage market world wide had exploded, the financial's had collapsed and then here came out of nowhere, $4.00 gas from late May until the end of November, 2008. We were not ready then- There was no Volt or Tesla or Ford Focus EV. It broke us bad....

    Different story this time-

.......The icing on the cake is driving my Volt and getting in excess of 58 miles a charge. The start of 50 miles full charge plus another 6 -10 miles regenerating!

Sorry for the delay in responding, I have been living in a camper in NY since July clearing out my mothers house will little to no internet. I've been back home in SC for a short time but have to return in a few days to finish up. I did get the book and am sorry for not thanking you but things have been overwhelming between taking car of my mother after her stroke, having visitors come from out of state to visit and clearing out her house in NY getting it ready to sell

Hi Larry, Never did hear back from you. Want to make sure that you received the Volt Book that I sent you some time ago. I did get an email back in the early spring telling me that the book had gone undelivered, however, checking with the US postal Service, they assured me that that was not the case.

PS I just went to the Costco web site, I never heard of Dannmar lifts so I can't say if that is good or bad
  9. silvercorvette
    PART TWO

The old lift was an Eagle lift, the new one is a Superlift. In my opinion it is better than the Eagle lift, but although I had no problems when I bought it 5 years ago I have read of dissatisfied customers recently.

The lift can be bolted to the floor but I have own a lift for almost 2 decades and was never wprried about it tipping over and it wasn't bolted to the floor.

I am not familiar with the lift Costco sells but I would be careful because I have seem a lot of lifts that are downright dangerous.

Check out ROTARY LIFTS, they make a quality product

That picture was taken in the house I had in NY, I no longer have the house or the lift.

When I moved to SC I had a second garage built next to the garage attached to my house

Go to THIS LINK POST # 19 for picture of my new garage. I don't recall the height of the old garage but this one's ceiling is almost 12 feet tall. I have seen someone install a lift in a garage that was only about 7 feet high but you really would have a hard time bending over to use it.

Go to the second from last picture and you can see a new lift in the driveway.
