I'm NOT associated with any other dealer and am genuinely in the market for a 2013 Volt. I first started looking into Keyes based on positive posts here, so I'm hoping others will avoid...or at least watch out for, this pitfall.

I went to truecar.com and obtained a quote for $39,242 on a 2013 Volt with an MSRP of $43,950. This quote did not include the Lease Conquest deal as I don't have a non-GM lease. I contacted Keyes and was told they would only sell me the vehicle if I also bought a $1,000 paint and interior protection package. I then contacted TrueCar who were very pleasant. They validated that this is against their policy and contacted Rick Alpern at Keyes. Rick told TrueCar that all of their vehicles already have this $1,000 package on them (a lie, I've been to their lot) so TrueCar asked Rick to update his pricing to reflect this. They told me Rick was very rude and refused, so they terminated their business relationship with Keyes as of yesterday evening. I'm bummed that I couldn't get the deal done, but glad to know Keyes lost the ability to advertise this fake deal. Feel free to try to get a quote through TrueCar for Keyes...you'll see they no longer come up as an option.

I hope this helps somebody. My wife started commuting about 75 miles a day, and she doesn't love her car. So we had the thought of getting a Volt to offset the gas cost and be able to have a cool car. But she would drive around 19.5k a year, and we would want to use it as our main shared cars on weekends. I like the idea of Leasing as the payments would be less, and I usually am a buy only person, but I like the idea of leasing an electric car, and being able to get a new more advanced one in a few years, and also don't want to worry about resale/replacing the battery.

The other option would be for me to trade my car for the Volt and drive it to work. My commute is shorter so I could run on electric 90% of the time, where she would be 50/50. Due to recent changes with our financial situation, I have decided to offer my Volt for a lease transfer as I now qualify for the FULL $7500 tax credit and plan to buy a 2014 Volt!

Base payment: $330.61

BTW - In moderate weather I have been getting approx. 49 miles of EV range during my 50/50 mix freeway/city commute and just over 40 mpg when running on gas.
