Is the windshield on the Volt recessed?
Can you explain more about what you mean by that?
Also curious on why you are asking (angle)?

Is the windshield flush with the body or recessed into it? (Not slightly recessed, like less than an inch, I mean like more than an inch.) I'm wondering because with things like snow, they get stuck because it can't be pushed off the side, and it keeps piling up and then the wipers can't push the snow anymore blocking your vision.

Without measuring, it looks like there's about a 3/4" recess at the bass of the windshield, tapering to about a 1/4" recess to the side at the top. It's flush on the top of course.

From this picture you can see what Rusty is talking about.

Looks like the windshield is low near where the hood ends so that the wiperblades are not catching the wind (CD reasons) and thus the taper up to the roof.

During the first rain with the Volt I noticed how the wipers pushed the water to the left edge of the glass and how the water stayed there and crept back a bit when the wipers returned. To improve the situation, Rain-X was used and it improved the clearing of the windshield. With rainy spring weather ahead in many parts of the country, it's a good idea to coat the windshield now to improve visibility no matter what vehicle you drive.
