The Volt manual says you can load playlists from USB devices onto your hard drive, but I've been unable to get it to recognize any playlists I've created. I also dont see a mention of what playlist formats it accepts, I thought it would be m3u but I guess not.
Has anyone else had luck getting the Volt to read a playlist? if so what type of playlist did you use?

PS I had to try 3 different USB sticks before I found one the system could read and copied the mp3 files off it.

I would recommend just leaving the USB stick in place rather than copying to the internal HDD. I haven't evaluated this myself but others have reported that the car re-samples MP3s to a lower bit rate or somehow manipulates them during the copy process that results in reduced fidelity.

Along the same lines, I'm experiencing issues with an iPod left connected in the center console where the car causes the iPod to lock up. Rebooting the iPod brings it back, or you can tell the car to re-scan it and it recovers that way.

Mine works on my DroidX, I think you need to click the record button to start the copy. I'll need to check tonight to be sure. You may also need to switch you phone, or MP3 player to local storage device.

I have not had any luck getting it to read a playlist either. I had to create my playlists in the car.

I had no problem loading mp3's on my volt. I created a folder labeled "music" and copied the files to this directory. Then I put the USB stick in the console and hit the button HDD/DVD/AUX until it displayed USB. Then hit the Record button. I will note that it will NOT import m4a's files, you will need to convert them to mp3's.
