I checked it out on a $100($99) item and it will cost me $15 in shipping to IL so after my 15% discount I'm still at $100. I guess that is compared to $108 or so if I bought it locally and paid the sales tax. I know there are other pros and cons that I need to consider (helping my state out, buying local, reciprocating "thanks" from my local dealer when I get service, etc). Interesting offer tho.

That is a pretty good offer. I like to see this service offered. I, however use google chrome as a browser, and have found no reason to use another browser on my macbook air, which comes with "Safari." However, this website of yours requires Internet Explorer (yuck) or Mozilla Firefox, (not as bad, but completely unnecessary as until today I've yet to find a site that doesn't work on Chrome.)

Thanks for the follow up and the point about actually shipping cost. That means something to many buyer who have a pet peeve about the 'S&H' exorbitant charges that some people try to get away with.

That would be much better. The shipping calculator on the website seems to just keep adding shipping charges for each item as if all items are being shipped as a separately. For example, the first item is $15 S&H, second item is $10 more, etc. But since you said that actual shipping charges will apply, I placed an order.

One thing I wanted to ask is about availability. Last week I called local Chevrolet dealers and the parts guy said that some of the Volt accessories would take 10 days to get. I didn't see anything during the ordering process that would indicate that the accessories are not available to ship so my assumption is that they are available. If this isn't the case, you should probably mention this on the website.

Thanks for checking it out! The web site is mostly ran and updated by GM, I have the power to fix pricing and such. I can't show availability as that is not part of its function. Most accessories that are not in stock will take 7 days to us and yes 3 more to you = 10 days.

Also the site doesn't know how multiple items will be shipped, thus it still sells them as individual shipments. We correct the shipping before asking for your payment. We only charge shipping without any mark up and NO Handling charges will ever be charged. We are not into the business to make money off the shipping and we don’t make prices so low that we have to make up for it in the shipping as others do. Tonkin has been selling for over 50 years and we know what our customers want - and that is a good deal !!

Any chance you would be able to order body parts for the Opel Ampera when parts become available for that car? I want their rear and front bumper. I understand the Ampera will be made here in the US, so I am thinking those parts would already be in the US. Is that sound thinking?

Given how a lot of articles written about the Volt/Ampera say that the Ampera is much better looking, I am sure there would be a good demand locally for these bumpers. I do know that some like the Volt appearance more, so no need to add that comment here.

No wheel specs in our cataloging - you should however be able to take a wheel off your Volt and measure the back spacing of it. Just run a strait edge across the back of the rim and then measure from the machined surface to the straitedge.

So far all the third party Volt "thingies" I've seen have avoided the Volt lightning V. I'm assuming that's because nobody wants to infringe trademark issues.

But I've never seen a (tm) near the logo from GM. Is it actually trademarked? Or is it fair game? Last I heard, if you don't (tm) it, you didn't (tm) it.

I have not, but it doesn't look like a good option because there is no swivel. I would think this would make it uncomfortable in your pocket. If you can find a separate swivel to replace the ring, that could work, but that's an effort.

Are there any more expected Accessories or add ons coming in the future months that are from GM itself and not any aftermarket companies. like I know some Caddies have the sun shades for the rear that the rear passengers can put up to block the sun while traveling, that would be a cool thing to add.
Also has anyone considered buying one of those solar panels that can be unfolded and pluged into the power socket or 12V battery directly, usually ment for RV's Cars and Boats. If so do you think it would mak a big difference if you left it out while you were at the mall or something for a few hours. Thanks - Ron

We had 5 more Volt orders this weekend - Thanks.... I am ordering an extra 4 of everything except the car cover as that hasn't been as popular as the other accessories.

Now on the Volt die cast cars - I am not able to get a you deal at this time. I will keep trying to see what I can do, but from what I understand the Volt car that is offered at the Chevy Mall is a limited production deal and the sale they had has ended. My price from them is pretty much the same as you would pay.

Can you add that then? I have seen all that you have listed from other sources before you listed them here, but if there is something besides the storage holder that separates the cargo area from the passenger area, I would be interested. We aren't going to have people in the backseats often, so hard to see getting the storage holder.

I think that the cloth would look right in a car with cloth seats, but for the same money as leather. I really don't think the leather would look all that out of place in the cloth interior either.

What is the heavy duty hatch mat made of? Is it water and stain resistant? When we go to the NC mountains in the summer, we have to take our garbage to the transfer station. I'd hate to have anything leak out of the plastic bags on to the carpet.

OK - I can get it for you @ $30.80 + shipping....

I can't say what shipping is until one arrives. GM shows that the box is 69" long, but it is very light. :)

Thanks, Allen. Unfortunately, it doesn't look good for me because of something UPS calls "Dimensional Weight" due to its long length. Shipping to Texas for a 69"x6"x6" package weighing 3lbs is $20. If it was 69"x12"x12" shipping is $71! Of course I'm guessing on the width and height.

I was kind of hoping it actually came rolled up, but I guess that wouldn't be practical since it has a mounting flange.

But I guess the feasibility would depend on how much we'd end up saving on shipping....and the degree of convenience retrieving our various items from whatever single location we have it shipped to (ie. Definitely you can install the center storage compartment on your own. It's held in place by Velcro. The door sills are a bit trickier, but probably doable if you are comfortable with DIY projects. The dealer installed my sills, and they look great.

The sills look great and are sticky back. I used masking tape as a guide to establish the bottom edge and one end to get it on straight and equal for driver and passenger sides.

I like the rear center compartment but frequent removal will begin to damage the fabric on the back of the seats.

I have a 2011 Volt that I picked up March 25, 2011. I ordered my Rear Storage/Barrier and the floor and cargo mats from Allen on March 26, 2011. I received them on April 11, 2011. :) I assume the part would be the same for MY 2012.

You can still order some accessories if you would like and still save money. The Leather Barrier is shipped in its own box and is about 5 Lbs. So by waiting to get everything together won't save you anything. Now on another note I have shipped to many customers in New York and Flroida and still they have saved money. Frankly having to order through a dealer is a royal PIA and I'm sure depresses overall sales, especially for people like me who are accustomed to ordering almost everything online without intermediary steps that add unnecessary complications.

Do you happen to know if the Volt front and rear disc brake calipers are the same as those used on the Chevy Cruze? As best as I can determine from a web search, they are. Several dealer sites listed front and rear calipers as parts for both the Volt and Cruze.

The reason I ask is that I'm considering purchase of MGP caliper covers. The MGP web site lists the Chevy Cruze as a "supported" vehicle, but not the Volt. But if the calipers on both cars are the same, the MGP Cruze covers will work on the Volt.

I wouldn't bet on it. The bolt pattern is the same as the 1st gen CTS. So I wouldn't be surprised if the caliper is the same too.

The calipers are not the same when looked up in my GM Parts Catalog.

Is the 23% Discount still available? When I use the Volt1 code in the cart the discount is 19.85% discount.. Still pretty good, but not the 23% listed..
