: What constitutes "Junior" vs "Senior" member?

This is more of a question, really: I joined March 21st 2008 (after a fairly long "lurking" period), so I'm coming up on three years; but I'm still listed as a "Junior member." What is used to determine this status, and when does one category "graduate" to the next?

Only a little miffed.

Number of posts. This posting for you was your 27th. IIRC you go from Junior Member to Member at 30 posts. Likewise IIRC you go from Member to Senior Member at 200. YMMV. I could have the actual numbers wrong, if so I'm sure somebody'll add a post to their list to correct me :-)

Don't be so bashful!

I am only guessing, but when my number of posts went past about 30, mine went from junior member to just plain "member". So maybe it is tied to the # of posts you have made.

Member to Senior Memeber change is at 100 posts. BTW, only posts in the forum are counted.

My post count is far above what it says - but my measuring stick includes all the time I've been posting to this website which is long before the new management took over. I think it's a crying shame all those past contributions carry no value.

I think this website ought to discard the heirarchial labelling; it is disrespectful to many of us.

It only counts posts on the Forum. Posts on the main page are apparently handled by completely different software.

If you send me the $50 fee in cash, I can probably expedite your promotion to "Senior Member" for you, as long as you also post X number of times too.

If you quit gm-volt and then join again, you'll be listed as a re-member.
