: Did the volt advisors get new jobs?
cheifsfan 12-22-2010, 08:43 PM I keep hearing about the great service that the volt advisors are providing. Sounds like each person is given a specific advisor. I am currently at 3400 (been so for a week) and still have never received a call from a volt advisor. Is this typical?
ChasSidwa 12-22-2010, 08:56 PM I've been at 3400 for 22 days and only heard from a Volt advisor when I called them. I believe we get more and better info on this board then anywhere else. I'm get cranky having not moved to 3800.

If you call, I believe you get a random Volt Advisor. People's experiences with that seem to be that random VAs have random capabilities. Some time after 3800 I got a call from Brittany, who left a specific extension to call back. I've chatted several times with her, and while there have been times I've had to teach her stuff (sent her e-mail on tracking today, which she wants to share with other VAs) she's been great. She's certainly worked hard and diligently to get the information I've wanted.
Are they all that way? Apparently not.
dmastroluca 12-22-2010, 09:17 PM I am waiting for Indian accents next time I call them.
bookdabook 12-22-2010, 09:31 PM My initial experience with a Volt Advisor was back on 10/21 the day after my SD Volt test drive. It was a good one with a woman named April. I spoke with her once more in Nov. when I got my TPW but since then, I have only spoken to random VAs that usually put me on hold to answer any question I had ... but they always found some kind of answer even if they had to call back. So in general the VA is a good thing but not at the Apple level of customer service -those phone bank people really know their products.
Lately, I miss my Volt Advisor April. I have emailed her twice but have not gotten replies. Maybe she is on vacation. When she initially contacted me she said I would have a VA for the duration of my ownership of the car which is pretty cool but I'm a little non-plused right now.
Marty 12-22-2010, 10:37 PM I've dealt with one advisor throughout the process. His name is Kevin. Usually he has initiated the conversation to advise me of status, TPW, and the like. I have emailed him from time to time and he has been responsive. I think he was helpful in breaking the SPX Voltec level 2 stonewall. No complaints. However there hasn't been any conversation within the last couple of weeks when my Volt has seen the most movement. I assume they're very busy with the deliveries taking place now, handling dealer complaints, etc.
The emails have the tagline "A Morley Employee". That's a hint that the Volt Advisor program is outsourced. Most likely here: http://www.morleynet.com/morley-companies-products.html - Note under the Interactive heading the Vehicle Services Processing Center bullet point (non-clickable).
Still no complaints! It's obviously a temporary gig for the rollout of the new car and technology and they'll be doing something else next year. GM didn't have to do it at all.
I ordered my car on 8/03, and got a phone call that week with little or no information. I went to 3800 on 12/15. and have heard not a word from a Volt Advisor since August. The process seems to be a little spotty...

unplugged 12-22-2010, 11:43 PM When my Volt went to 3400 on 12/15, I called the advisor number. Up to that point no one had called me. I asked for the TPW and he looked it up and gave me 1/10/2011. He told me that he would advise the dealer because the TPW had just been released.
He said that I would hear from an advisor in the next few weeks about the charger, but I'm not holding my breath.

Did you call and get your TPW?
Because we reserved a car that was already on order for the dealership, we were not given info on an Advisor. We kept asking. Our salesman did not have a clue on how to find that info out (until recently). We finally found out by calling GM ourselves. It turns out that our Volt advisor is assigned to the dealership so anyone that ordered one of the Hewlett Speck Volts would probably have Norma, however, we talked to another person since Norma was off. IF your car was a speck (sp) car, then GM does not call the dealership back to see if it has been assigned. It is easy to kind of get missed in the shuffle. Cari
Call your Dealership and have them find out your advisor.

I have called my advisor several times but get only voice mail...As Bobby Dillon so presciently sang:
"Where have all the VA's gone, long time passing....Where have all the VA's gone, long, long time ago....."
ChasSidwa 12-23-2010, 07:59 AM Unplugged, My dealer gave me the TPW, and yes my car is a dealer spec car. Though it is a spec car, since I called, they have now connected me to that car but I still not have ever heard from them. Today is the 23rd, I'm stuck at 3400 for 24 days.
bookdabook 12-23-2010, 11:10 AM One thing missing from this thread is how to contact a Volt Advisor. The direct line is: 877-486-5846 or 888-865-8496 (ask to be transferred to a VA from the latter). You will need your 6 character order number which you can obtain from your dealer. With that number the VA can give you all kinds of info about your car or answer any general Volt questions. If they can't right away they'll call you back after talking to someone smarter. They are Americans and seem to be enjoying working with this brand new American made technology.
LeelaLB 12-23-2010, 11:30 AM Well, I liked the idea of having a personal Volt Advisor, but it doesn't really work when you get assigned a different VA every couple of weeks. From the time my order was placed until my Volt was delivered I was assigned at least 4 different VAs. Each time they called it was the same thing: my name is [blank], I'm your new advisor, do you have your order number, there are charging stations you can get [blah blah blah], do you have any other questions. The fourth time it was so silly I just started laughing and cut the person off before they could get too far. My car had been built and I had just one question that I knew she couldn't answer: when will the car ship. When I told her that she laughed and said, you're right, I can't answer that but if you have any other questions...? But I didn't, because by reading posts here I always knew what was going on before the VAs and had more information compared to the VAs. Nice idea, mediocre execution.
hamchief 12-23-2010, 02:46 PM I spoke with Kimberly today.
My dealer quoted me $513/mo lease with $2500 down. He also said I was getting the car for MSRP. Kimberly agreed with me that there's something drastically wrong with those figures, unless I ordered $20K in options (I didn't).
My dealer also told me that he called Ally and asked about the $7500 interest free 1 year loan and that they told him, "no such animal".
Kimberly is getting her supervisor(s) to contact the dealer and straighten things out.
She also told me that my car was still in Michigan, most likely waiting for them to fill up a truck for my area which would probably be Jan 3. This is in contrast to my dealer telling me that my car is being transported now and I should have it in a few days.
VoltGuy 12-23-2010, 04:31 PM Only US Bank can execute this lease. If they are trying to use someone else you will never get there from here. This from someone that picked his Volt up Tuesday and has already jumped through all these hoops. After all was said and done and since my trade-in allowed me some pay down I walked out with a 36 month lease at .00025 money factor and a payment of $330 a month. MSRP on my Volt was $44,695.

$513/month is exactly what I am paying for my lease. My MSRP was $44,100 and it is a 36 mo lease for 15K miles/year at a .00025 money factor with $2200 down ($2000 from the US Bank rebate and an extra $200 from the $1500 deposit I put down when I placed the order; rest of the deposit went to the first month's payement, title, taxes, and fees). I could have put more down to bring the monthly payment down but decided it wasn't worth it given the low interest rate. Depending on where you live, the taxes can really add a lot too (I'm basically at 10%).
cheifsfan 12-23-2010, 06:37 PM $513????? This is very disappointing based on what i may end up paying then. You are paying $167 for $3400 in options and taxes and license fees? I don see how it can be this much. Did you get the $2000 additional rebate on the lease? If I am over $450 a month on my lease I will be walking away. I refuse to pay $50 more a month than I can get somewhere else.
hamchief 12-24-2010, 10:30 AM BTW, they also gave me extraterrestrial numbers on purchasing. He told me for $7500 down, six years - payment would be in the high $600s. They haven't done a credit application yet, so they shouldn't be assuming I'm a bad risk and charge me 15%!
I'll probably find out more next week.
LeelaLB 12-24-2010, 10:58 AM Did you get the $2000 additional rebate on the lease?
I did get the $2000 rebate and applied this to the down payment. I could have paid an additional $2000 and brought the monthly payment down considerably, but decided that with a .6% interest rate on the lease, my money was better spent elsewhere. The important points are that I paid MSRP, got the $2000 rebate, and had a .00025 money factor. This is the best you can get with the US Bank lease.
