When you go to ChevyConnects is your Checked On date old or is it today. Mine is old and told there is a server issue. You might call your dealer too as maybe it's sitting there!

I spoke with an advisor long ago, and when I mentioned an early article I read stating some CA dealers were marking up 20k, she told me the dealers can charge any price they wish. I guess it's the marketplace that ultimitely decides the final cost.

As much as I fretted over the status codes ( or lack of change in my codes ) , I now come to the conclusion that they are not always as they appear, and info from GM can be late and not reflective of what is really going on at the moment, and I worried needlessly.
For example, my car is now sitting at the dealer, but I could never find any shipping information. The car was delivered yesterday in an enclosed truck, and the photo from the dealer shows it was not Cassens name on it, and all along I thought it was still on the lot in Detroit or just maybe on a train somewhere. Hang in there , once the car goes to 3800 things can happen very quickly and the tracking info can be sketchy at best.

So how soon will cars from the Class of 10 and/or the Class of 15 begin to move out of Area 51? And more to the point, how soon will we be able to track movement on this site? If the site updates every three hours that is better than updates every 24 hours. However, I suspect a lot of folks there are taking time off for Christmas so we will probably not see the concerted efforts of last week.

Didn't the guy on the other side of the fence tell us that they were being charged daily, and that they were all having a power supply replaced? I'm not sure he's been our best source...

She informed me that my TPW was last week, the car was built (it was actually finished 12/9), read me the VIN, and that it was in "quality inspection." She said "it's been taking 2 to 3 weeks for quality inspection," but it seemed much like our observations, not an actual informed expectation.

She also said that when it shipped, it would go to a distribution center near the plant (presumably the railyard) and I would get another call.

It would not surprise me if it took 3 weeks. I'm not at all sure what goes on in Area 51 but whatever it is, I can't begrudge the folks who do it taking the holidays off. Too, when it does finally appear, I would really like it to be right. It would just be nice if they kept us a bit better informed. The Volt Advisors are very nice, polite folks. They are just incredibly under informed.

There should be something like at least 8 - and maybe 10 - days production of cars in Area 51 - somewhere near 400. Perhaps there has to be some sort of critical mass, critical mass by geographic region, or some other tipping point that starts movement out of Area 51. Whatever it is, we do not seem to have reached that tipping point today....

VIN # 555, went to 3800 on 12/15 as well. Dealer in Southern California says invoice due in by Friday. Will finalize the purchase with surface treatment added. Will take a long look at the extended warranty as well. It will be wise for dealers to cut 20% off the cost of extended warranty. Better to have 8000 pay 80%. Than 2500 pay 100%. If the Volt is reliable then this is a great deal of profit for the quarterly report.
