I ordered a week ago and haven't received my order number from the dealer. They said they placed the order and have current allocation but they said they don't have an order number yet. Is this accurate? I hope they don't have allocation and are playing around with me. They had no problem taking my deposit lmao....

I received my order number in about 5 days.

I placed my order and deposit with my dealer on Friday July 30th. However at the time (ahhh the early days) they said they couldn't order it in the system because they didn't have the option pricing yet. On Monday August 9th I had them go ahead and place the order with the understanding that I'd pay for the options, whatever the price ended up being (the numbers had started to leak out by then). They then immediately (within minutes) were able to give me my order number.

That also made my deposit non-refundable, for that dealer. Personally I'm a believer in committing with a non-refundable deposit to demonstrate to them that you mean business, and don't have multiple dealers on the hook.

Note that having an order number and getting assigned an allocation slot are two different things. See "tracking your order" in the FAQ linked below. Even with an order number, you're just going to advance to obsessing about being stuck on status code 1100 :)

I ordered mine in November and received an order number the same day.

I received the order number before I left the dealership. The salesperson entered it in the computer and handed me a printout. Later that day I showed as status 1100 in chevroletconnects.com.

I also received the order number when I placed the order. It is assigned by the GM Order Workbench system when the dealer enters the order.

I got my order number within a few minutes after I provided my deposit.

It took me a little over a month to get the order number. Turns out I was bugging the wrong guy at the dealership at first; for some reason this particular person refused to give me the order number. One day I asked someone else at the dealership for the order number and he gave it to me right away. My advice, ask around as your order number should be available if they put it into Workbench.
