The specs page at http://www.chevrolet.com/volt/features-specs/ lists a CD player on the Volt, but I was under the impression it could read/play DVD's as well. Am I mistaken?
EDIT: Actually it looks like there's a trim specific area that lists the DVD (not sure why it's only listed there). Trying to delete this post...

Only the CAB members whai have a Volt, or anyone with a Owner's Manual (available at Helminc.com) can give you the answer.

It is a CD/DVD player. Here are some details on page 7-16 of the owner's manual:
"The player can be used for CD, MP3, and DVD audio, and as a DVD video player." "While playing, the navigation system is available." "The vehicle must be in P (Park) for video to display."
The Volt also has a Hard Drive Device (HDD) for storing MP3, MP3-Pro, WMA, Audible.com or M4A files copied from CD or the USB connector. "Content can also be played directly from the USB device." (Page 7-29) Apple iPod is also supported.
There are about 20 pages in the manual devoted to the audio/video capabilities of the Volt.
Here is a video from GM on the audio system: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4mA0A2OHNU
