: link to first unread post

This isn't a request, more of a question ... Did something change on this site today? The way the forum behaves has changed slightly. Now when I return ("go back") from a particular thread back up to the thread or category listing level, it refreshes the page with the absolute latest information. So it shows that I've read the thread I just came out of (correctly), meaning that thread is no longer bolded and I don't have the little blue arrow link to go to the "first unread post" in that thread. Previously it wouldn't refresh that page, it would just pull what it had from the cache.

I'm not complaining, it just means a slightly new way of keeping up with posts. Did you guys do an upgrade or config change?

In short, nevermind.

Over on another computer I saw it wasn't behaving like this (still working the old way). This looked like a caching problem, meaning each page was getting re-queried even when going "back". And that reminded me that as I was doing the browsing earlier today, I was in the process of filling up the hard drive (mistakenly) due to something else I was doing in the background on the same computer. Once the hard drive filled up I got an error message and went off to go deal with that. But I never put one and one together to realize that filling up the hard drive had killed the browser's ability to cache, so it was requesting each page every time.
