In EV Mode
Find a flat section of freeway with relatively little traffic, the longer the better (10-20 miles would be nice). Set the cruise control at 70 MPH. Run the Volt both direction on this same stretch of Road. Record kwh used.
Repeat this test at 65 MPH. and again at 55
In CS Mode
repeat the same test. Record gallons used.
The EV mode test will give us the mi/kwh used for 3 road speeds.
The CS Mode test will allow us to calcualate the ICE engine efficiency.
