Not to say that fuel is any less dangerous, but after reading the below article on lithium ion battery storage risks on planes, it occurs to me to find out how dangerous the T-Pack is in a high speed collision (say 65mph). Is there any information out there?

I'm pretty sure the pack is designed with a reinforced enclosure to prevent this type of thing. Take a look at some of the battery engineering/testing videos GM has provided.

I believe it's a somewhat different chemistry than typically used in phones and other such consumer electronics. I've been told it's not as exothermic, and less prone to runaway.
