I had similar movement on my order this week almost the same as the others on this thread (NY - Long Island) and hope this means a call is coming soon from the factory ....

My order on Camarotracking.com shows this also. But, now I'm confused. I had been told that our dealership would not get cars until March, and not to expect the call from the factory until year end. Similarly, many other reports all over Michigan seem to indicate that March is the first that we get deliveries in this area. Don't toy with me and get my hopes up!
No matter, it is probably a good thing. What do you say, Martha?

Well, there were also reports that NJ dealerships wouldn't be getting them until march either, only NYC would get them this year, but I just got a call from GM and they said my Volt will be produced in December. So there may still be hope for others.

Oh man, are you really going to stir up the Michigan folks again? :)

I'm not sure who got what call, but in general you get a first call from the Volt team upon order entry, and then a second call after it enters the production pipeline (3000).

Hmmm... Interesting. I got the call when it moved to 3000 (8 days ago, when they said "We're trying for by Dec 31st, but no promises"), but I don't believe I received a call on order entry (unless that was just the one to say what the 800 number is).

nah before the Michigan folks are stirred up again (aka me) let me put it quickly to rest. See I was already stirred up when I saw CT orders moving forward and got excited a few days ago. I got in touch with John Hughes to see if there was a possible change in plans. He clarified that parts of NJ and CT are considered the NY metro area that is part of the first wave. MI is still in March....although he didn't specify what year.....maybe I should have gotten that nailed do :)

So alas, it's getting very painful to read these threads as I am Viridian Joule Green with envy.

Just FYI, I am getting one of the first Volts off the line and I have NEVER got a call from the Volt team. I called them this week and they had no record of me or my Volt, although they said "Oh yes there it is at the front of the line". They said they would get someone assigned to me and they would call me but still no call from anyone.

No big deal, I have my friend on the assembly line that will give me a day to day progress on my car once it hits the assembly line and that is all I really care about.

I'm at 2030 on Camarotracking too, and I got a call today from Chevrolet to expect a call from Chevrolet later (noncommittal as to how much later) where they would talk about home charging needs. Of note it apparently went to 2030 briefly before but showed 1100 whenever I checked it. The Chevrolet.com tracking site seems to be broken, it just spins the "Loading" icon forever. From Camarotracking:

Okay, that's strange. I have checked camarotracking every 2-3 days (even though I've signed up for email updates) and it's been 1100 all the time until today or maybe yesterday.

So how did it go back in time and get changed? I'm not complaining. I'm more curious than excited that my number (as well as many others) has changed.

I had the dealer modify my order twice. Once for the interior color, and once for the wheel choice.

I would think that with the few cars that are in the 3000 range that you should certainly get it by the end of the year if they are starting production in November. I hope to get my Volt by the end of the year so I can get back $7500 the IRS (theIRS) stole from me sooner.

So how did it go back in time and get changed?

That's been happening to lots of people here for the past week. I figure that perhaps CamaroTracking started getting a better data feed from GM (GM has been working them recently to improve their system) and that just exposed this edit activity that's been happening all along. I wouldn't worry about it. It's nice to see something happening :)

Hello. Here's my camarotracking order history:

07/31/2010 - (1100) Order Placed at Dealership Order passed GM edit tables but dealers has not received allocation to place order
07/31/2010 - (1102) Order Entered via Web
08/23/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
09/20/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
09/24/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
10/15/2010 - (2000) Order Accepted by GM Dealer used allocation to place order into production
10/19/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
10/19/2010 - (2500) Order Preferenced Order pulled to the production system
10/19/2010 - (3000) Order accepted by production control. Parts being ordered and production process is underway

Shortly after the order was placed, I received a call from GM, but haven't received another one since the status went to 3000. However, as I posted in another thread, my dealer sent me a document from GM stating my production period is scheduled from "November 22-28". (sorry about the posts in different forums....I'm just getting the hang of where to put them.)

Rusty

Yes I am still at 3400 and since the next code update will be when it is actually being produced I am looking to Jeffery at the plant to keep me up to speed as to where my car is. He said the next step is the body shop giving my car a date. That has not happened yet but he says that it doesn't happen until VERY close to build time. Once it starts down the assembly line he will give a day to day update on it. I am still hoping this process all starts in the next couple of weeks since they have promised week of November 1st as the start of the build.

katzha, it looks like we are in the same situation.

It looks like everyone who has posted shows the following in common, even down to the same dates:

09/20/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
09/24/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified
10/19/2010 - (2030) Order edited or modified

Possibly a mass update by GM. Did you get a call yesterday to expect another call re charger?

My order status went to 3000 today. I was surprised as I was fully reconciled to a 2011 delivery. My order date was 10/25/10.
Am I excited or what? I will keep my fingers crossed for a 2010 delivery.
